MEANINGFUL WASTE

2Corinthians 4:16 -17 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

Snakes and other reptiles periodically undergo molting thus shedding off their skin to allow for further growth and to remove parasites that may have attached to their old skin. To others, it may be a waste but to the snake, it is a necessity for survival and longevity.
As believers, there are things we must regularly do to grow in our faith and to also remove parasites that have held on to us, they are necessities for our survival and longevity in the faith. When we engage in spiritual exercises like reading the Word, prayer, fasting, giving, retreats, when exhibiting fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law.)
in situations where we should have reacted to others, it looks like a waste but we know our inner man is being renewed and we even rejoice in them more because these afflictions are light and temporary never be compared to the glory God will reveal to us here on earth and in eternity.

Prayer: Holy Spirit as I avail myself unto godly exercises make renew my inner man and launch me into glory in Jesus mighty name Amen
