Ezekiel 17:15-16 But the king rebelled against him by sending his envoys to Egypt to get horses and a large army. Will he succeed? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the treaty and yet escape? "’ As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, he shall die in Babylon, in the land of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose treaty he broke.

Breaking human agreements comes with a lot of consequences. It will make you lose money, properties, end up in jail or eventually die. God was telling the people of Judah their fate for breaking the covenant they had with the king Babylon. It does not matter how powerful your new client or partner may be. Once you go contrary to the terms or agreement with your earlier partner it will cost you. Therefore it is important to take time to read the terms and conditions of a contract and to carefully ponder over them before making any committed. Sometimes the new contracts look juicy and very attractive and makes you think there more to gain. But by the time you finish court procedures and payments of penalties, we will realise it has cost you more. Therefore consider well before you enter into or out of an agreement.
