THE SCARLET OF THE HOOKER

Joshua 2:18 When we come into the land, you must leave this scarlet rope hanging from the window through which you let us down. And all your family members—your father, mother, brothers, and all your relatives—must be here inside the house.

Joshua, the next leader of Isreal after Moses sent men to secretly view the land Jericho. When they arrived in Jericho the safest place they could lodge was in the house of the hooker Rehab. People who are involved in the kind of work Rehab do have one quality to their advantage. They are hospitable that even foreigners know they can find solace with them for a while.  The only surprise Rahab had at that time was that those men were not there to patronize her services rather they were on a mission for God.

No matter how you may think you have veered off in life from the ways of God, there is definitely a day when God will send people on His mission to you. After God has sent His people on a mission to you, you have the responsibility of accepting the invitation they give and to believe. Rahab admitted to the spies they had heard of the great works of God from afar thus the Good news. Joshua 2:9-10 She said to the men: "I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land are fainthearted because of you.

For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed. It is enough to hear the good news but you must also believe when you encounter it personally. To believe starts with the scarlet which presents the blood of Jesus Christ. It is only the blood of Jesus Christ that will exempt you and your household against the destruction that is to befall all who disobeyed Him. Rahab was mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. You too it doesn't matter what you have done can save yourself and your household from this coming destruction and be raptured by Jesus Christ. 

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ cleanse with your blood and save me and my generation from the day of destruction in Jesus' name. Amen.
