PRAYING FOR YOU

Acts 26:28-29 Agrippa interrupted him. “Do you think you can persuade me to become a Christian so quickly?” Paul replied, “Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that both you and everyone here in this audience might become the same as I am, except for these chains.”

After many trials and opposition, the Apostle Paul appeared before king Agrippa to make his defence. Acts 26:2 “I am fortunate, King Agrippa, that you are the one hearing my defence today against all these accusations made by the Jewish leaders. After making his submissions this is what king had to say. Agrippa interrupted him. “Do you think you can persuade me to become a Christian so quickly?” Beloved all who preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to you including me, have been called into the ministry of reconciliation where we have been given a message - the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore we persuade people to believe and receive this good news because it will be bad news for them on the day the Lord returns in His glory. 2 Corinthians 5:10-11 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad. Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.

The motivation for Jesus Christ dying on the cross is the salvation of souls and reconciling humanity back to God and this is the same motivation we have when we preach the gospel to you that you will believe and be saved just like us. If for any reason you refused to believe on the day of salvation like king Agrippa, guess what we have not given up on you. Your salvation is in sight and we will keep praying for you. Sooner or later you will become one of us “Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that both you and everyone here in this audience might become the same as I am, except for these chains.”

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ together with your saints across the world we lift prayers for all who have heard the gospel and have not yet believed. Have mercy on them. Holy Spirit prick and convict them of their sins so that they may believe the gospel in Jesus' name. Amen
