DIVINE ALLIANCE

Joshua 10:6 The men of Gibeon quickly sent messengers to Joshua at his camp in Gilgal. “Don’t abandon your servants now!” they pleaded. “Come at once! Save us! Help us! For all the Amorite kings who live in the hill country have joined forces to attack us.”

Yesterday we discussed the people of Gibeon and how they used deception to settle among the Israelites. The oath between Israel and Gibeon did not allow Israel to sack or even harm them when they found out the truth. The people of Gibeon made a smart move by aligning themselves with the people of Israel. In Today's text, they were under siege from kings of the Amorites and called on Joshua and Israel's army to help them. Life is such that we all need alliances, people who you can stand with and those who will stand with you as well.

As believers, our alliance is first to the God Head, The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. In deciding to have an alliance with anyone you must ask God to lead and guide you as you partner with someone in marriage, business and all other areas of life. Alliance comes with responsibility and loyalty. When you ally with anyone you should be willing to help and defend the person at all times.

Don’t abandon your servants now!” they pleaded. “Come at once! Save us! Help us! You should know when your partner needs you urgently and you must be available. Ignoring a partner in times of trouble is a great sign of disloyalty. God frowns upon such actions. Stay focused, be available and loyal to all who God has aligned to your life divinely. Amen.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ help me to serve my partners well in all diligence that my life will bring glory to you in Jesus' name. Amen.
