RIGHTEOUSNESS APART FROM THE LAW

Romans 3:21-22 But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile.

These verses of the Bible under study today can be better understood when we look at this scenario. When an individual commits an offense and is found guilty, though the guilty person committed the offense against a single individual who is the plaintiff. No matter the degree of the defendant's offense the plaintiff cannot mete out punishment to him or her. It takes a judge rightfully mandated by the State to pass judgment on the defendant. Now for a person who has been found guilty before the law and condemned by it, there is no hope. That is when the righteous apart from the law the righteousness of God is revealed. Though a person be in the four walls of a prison condemned to many years of sentence or death if the person believes in Jesus Christ as his or her personal saviour though on earth limited to the confinement of the prison in the kingdom of God they are freemen. The righteousness of God is not seen and will never be seen through the Law. You may be accused by personal, family, societal or national laws and tagged as a rebel or unrighteous. But apart from the law, there is the righteousness of God that one can experience through Christ Jesus. On the cross, the other thief though was condemned to death experienced the righteousness of God.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I thank you that through you I can experience the righteousness of God. I have faith in you to save me. Amen
