DO YOU THE ELEMENTARY TEACHINGS OF YOUR FAITH?

Hebrews 6:1-2 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.

The writers of Hebrews labels teachings about Christ, repentance from dead works, faith in God, laying on of hands, cleansing rites, the resurrection of dead and eternal judgment as elementary teaching. I want to ask you as a believer if you have knowledge of these things? Have you made time to study them? Paul has this to say about studying. 2Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. What was the last time someone asked you a question about the faith and you answered with chicken ease? The Hebrews did not know these basic teachings about their faith and the writers wanted to reach them deeper truth in the faith but it almost seems impossible. Until you grasp the basic teachings about our faith understand deeper things will be difficult. How long have you been a believer now? Are still feeding on milk or bones. Are you a disciple discipling others or a disciple who has forever been writing remedial. The Lord expects us to grow to a place where we can disciple others.

Prayer: Holy Spirit teach me the truth in your word, stir in me a desire to always study your word and to share it with others in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
