TO LOVE GOD IS TO OBEY GOD

Jeremiah 35:14 ’Jehonadab son of Rekab ordered his descendants not to drink wine and this command has been kept.  To this day they do not drink wine, because they obey their forefather’s command. But I have spoken to you again and again, yet you have not obeyed me.

The descendants of Jehonadad had obeyed rules given to them by their ancestors over the years without disobeying one. Some of us have obeyed ancestral rules and festivities over the years without an iota of doubt because we fear the implications of breaking such rules. We okay obeying human philosophies, myths science, and all others. All these will pass away with time. But the one thing that remains and will remain even in eternity we have difficulty in obeying that is God's Word. Whether we believe it or not we are who we are because of God's word and we shall stand in judgment because of the Word and we will receive our judgment depending on how we treated this Word of life handed down to us.

Prayer: Holy Spirit stir in me a desire to obey and to love your Word to the latter in Jesus name Amen.
