THE FUNCTION OF YOUR BODY

1Corinthians 6:19-20 Or don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

What do we have that we did not receive from the Lord? Our body is a gift from the Lord. The primary function of our body is to bring glory to God. Our bodies were not functional until God breathed into us. And the day He takes away His breath from us, we will stop existing. Honoring God with our bodies, means allowing his Holy Spirit in us to exhibit the fruits of the Spirit. At the cross, Christ redeemed our bodies from the works of the flesh that was the high price. Let us, therefore, put aside the works of the flesh and be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-25 But when the Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Here there is no conflict with the law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have nailed the passions and desires of their sinful nature to his cross and crucified them there. If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit's leading in every part of our lives.

Prayer: Holy Spirit by your power destroy any seed of sin in my life and help me to always present my body as a living sacrifice to the Lord in Jesus mighty name Amen
