THE SIGN OF VICTORY

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

In the old testament, people demanded signs to be sure about what prophets or even what God said. In Isaiah seven a king rose against king Ahaz of Judah and God assured him of victory and the sign of victory was given to them by God.

Signs give direction to a destination and tell us things that are about to happen. When Jesus Christ was here on earth the people of His time wanted a sign before they believed Him. Matthew 12:39 He answered, "A wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign! But none will be given it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. This old testament reference was a sign about the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. When God wanted to show give king Ahaz a sign that He would give him victory over the king of Syria then this prophecy was given in Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel ( God with us).

Beloved, anytime you receive a threat from the devil or anytime it seems that any circumstance of life is overwhelming you; be it your health, sickness, finances, children, schooling and what have you just know that you have been the sign of victory is the is Jesus Christ - God with us. Psalms 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. As believers, we have our victory in Christ alone nothing more nothing less. You foes increase and burdens when we forget that our victory is in Christ Jesus.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I thank you for the victory you won for me right from birth. Holy Spirit help me to know that Christ Jesus is with me at all times in Jesus' name. Amen.
