THE REASON FOR THE ANNOINTING

Isaiah 11:3-4 and he will delight in the fear of the LORD. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;  but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.

The annointing of God is one thing that has been abused by some people in the body of Christ. Most people do not know the reason for the annointing. The annointing is the supernatural empowerment of God that comes upon us for the simple reason of service to Humanity. Until you understand that the annointing is for service you can't achieve much for God. Let's look at Jesus Christ the most anointed personality who lived and what He lived to do with the annointings of God over His life.
The first two verses of Isaiah chapter eleven gives us the annointings that was at work in the life of the Messiah - Jesus Christ and the proceeding verses gives us how He lived because of the annointing of God in His life.

He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears. The first thing the annointing did in the life of Jesus Christ and continue to do our lives is that, it gives us sound judgment or discernment. An anointed vessel does not judge by what he sees or hears, he judges by an inner witness and by the word of God. When Jesus came He heard and saw a lot of things but His judgment was always based on God's word. For instance in the case of the woman caught in adultery. He heard them say a lot about her but He judged with God's word. A proof of your annointing is how judge people and situations. An another proof of your annointing is how you treat poor people. We are talking about two kinds of poverty here. Those who are poor in Spirit thus people who do not know Jesus Christ and those who poor in resources. but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth.

The poor of the earth He justifies by the preaching of the gospel. Jesus Christ preached both the gospel to the rich who did not have eternal life and the ordinary people of His time who did not have eternal life too. You can't claim to be anointed and not be passionate about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then your annointing is suspicious. Jesus preached to Zaccheaus and also preached to the woman at the well. How you treat needy people is also a proof of your annointing. Do you treat them by the offerings they give, the clothes they wear or you treat them with righteousness as our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ will them?
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked. Jesus Christ said the words which I speak they Spirit and Life. The world will be saved and destroyed by God's Word. If you are annointed you preached the word because it that which will save many and be a witness against those who do not believe.

The of the His lips represents that Spirit of God. One thing the Spirit of God does is that is destroys the works of the devil. If you are annointed you must be causing mayhem in the Kingdom of darkness. The sum of the reason for the anointing is sumed up in Jesus' manifesto in  Luke 4:18-21 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."  Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him.
He began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing." We also have been annointed for such a course.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ forgive me for making the annointing what it is not. Have mercy on me. From today Holy Spirit empower me serve with all deligence in Jesus name. Amen.
