HISTORY WILL BE REPEATED

Ezekiel 5:11 Therefore as surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, because you have defiled my sanctuary with all your vile images and detestable practices, I myself will shave you; I will not look on you with pity or spare you. A third of your people will die of the plague or perish by famine inside you; a third will fall by the sword outside your walls; and a third I will scatter to the winds and pursue with drawn sword.

The book of Ezekiel in the beginning chapters talks about the wrath of God towards Israel and Judah for their disobedience towards God. But the people of the time of Ezekiel considered them to be empty threats till they manifested. God does not waste words be is too great and busy for that.
Numbers 23:19 God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? Isaiah 55:10-11 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,  so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
Our generation also we are committing the same errors. We take the warnings of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ lightly and the consequences of eternal damnation for granted. In the Apostles' days, the people had this same attitude; therefore, the Chief Apostle wrote to address this issue.
2 Peter 3:8-10 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. From the time of Noah through History, the judgment of God has taken people by surprise because they failed to heed the warnings given to God through His people. The judgment will surprise those who are not looking forward, but to those preparing for it, it is an event. History will be repeated but decide to be on the safer side of history, like Noah and his family obeying God and waiting for his second coming. 

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, make me wise in all my dealings as I await your second coming in Jesus Christ. Amen
