THE REWARD OF WICKED SHEPHERDS

Jeremiah 25:34 Weep and moan, you evil shepherds! Roll in the dust, you leaders of the flock! The time of your slaughter has arrived; you will fall and shatter like fragile pottery.

The assignment Christ gave to His disciples and the church at large is to make disciples of all nations teaching them to obey His commandments. *Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,  and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."* Any leader who fails to teach his followers the way of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit is a wicked Shepherd. Again the charge was for the shepherds to teach the sheep the commandments of the Lord, not their personal philosophies. Any shepherd who fails in this also will face the brutal judgment of God. *James 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.* If you are not sure of what you teach better be a follower.

Prayer: Father make me a faithful shepherd after your own heart and a faithful follower of our Lord Jesus Christ Amen.
