WHEN THE RIGHTEOUS LAYS THE WRONG FOUNDATION

 

Isaiah 15:8 Their outcry echoes along the border of Moab; their wailing reaches as far as Eglaim, and their lamentation as far as Beer Elim. 

The height you attain in your walk with the Lord affects generations unborn. The Moabites are descendants of Lot, Abraham’s nephew. Lot made a lot of mistakes that affected his lineage. In Genesis 13:10&11, when there was contention between him and Abraham, he chose by sight and went to live in Sodom and Gomorrah. When we arrived and saw the lifestyle of the people, we did not push to relocate; rather, we lived among them and raised our family there. 2 Peter 2:7-8, and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless (for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard). Lot is called a righteous man, but none of his family members got saved. 

He was the only member of his family that got saved. She turned to a pillar of salt when God was saving them because she looked back. Genesis 19:26.Read the whole chapter of Genesis 19 to learn more about Lot. Again, he makes a wrong choice of location; when the angel of the Lord was bringing them deliverance, he chose Zoar, a small city nearby, instead of the mountains. The land of Sodom and Gomorrah had corrupted his daughters so much that they connived to get their dad drunk, slept with him, and made babies with him. The seed of the first daughter of Lot with him became the Moabites, enemies of God. We have been called to live separate lives. Don’t be fooled; what we hear and see affects us daily. Don’t be like Lot; set the right foundation for your dynasty.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, give me the wisdom and guide me to lay right foundations for generations unborn in Jesus' name. Amen.
