IF GOD BE AGAINST YOU

 

Isaiah 17:3: “The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim, and royal power from Damascus; the remnant of Aram will be like the glory of the Israelites,” declares the Lord Almighty.

Damascus is the capital of 17:3: “But they deviated from the ways of the Lord, and He came against them. There is a scripture that says if the Lord is for you, who can be against you? Romans 8:31 Very powerful and true, but the reverse is also very true: if the Lord be against you, who can be for you? It’s a serious thing for God to be against you. The main reason why God rose against His own people is that they went after idol worship. The first of the ten commandments is this: I am the Lord your God; you shall not have strange gods before me. Exodus 20:3

Today in our modern times we also have things we have idolized, that is, placed above God. It comes in various forms: human beings, social media, work, etc. The Lord is calling us back to the place of reverence for Him only. Today is that day; drop your idols and focus on God. Isaiah 17:7-8In that day people will look to their Maker and turn their eyes to the Holy One of Israel. They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands, and they will have no regard for the Asherah poles and the incense altars their fingers have made.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I rid my heart of every idol and set my affection on you above everything in Jesus' name. Amen!
