WASTED SUFFERING
Hebrews 5:8 Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered.
Suffering has the following synonyms: To undergo hardship, to feel pain, agonize, anguish, to become worse, deteriorate, worsen, to endure, undergo, bear, dree, thole, tolerate, to allow, permit etc.
In life whether you like it or not, from your birth to death you will suffer something.
Jesus the Son of the living God had to suffer, we get a pictorial represention of His suffering in Isaiah 53:2-12. Isaiah 53:3-4 He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins!
Jesus Christ had to go through all these to take the obedience test. Everything you deem painful, agonising, anything you allowed or endured is teaching the lesson of obeying God. David's suffering under King Saul, thought him the lesson of honour, forgiveness and more which are in obedience to God's word. Joseph learnt the lesson of forgiveness through his suffering with His family.
You have wasted your pain if what you went through didn't teach you to obey God.
Have you become better or worse after your pain?
