THE ETERNAL REWARD

Ruth 4:11-12 Then the elders and all the people at the gate said, “We are witnesses. May the Lord make the woman who is coming into your home like Rachel and Leah, who together built up the family of Israel. May you have standing in Ephrathah and be famous in Bethlehem. Through the offspring the Lord gives you by this young woman, may your family be like that of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah.”

Ruth's redemption by Boaz transformed a pagan young woman from an idolatrous background into a godly one, bringing her into the lineage of Jesus Christ. Ruth's journey was lengthy. It was not an easy choice to follow Jesus Christ. From losing a husband, abandoning her family, taking care of her mother-in-law, and working as a slave in Boaz's fields. In order to obtain our everlasting rewards, we must strive and make sacrifices. Ruth is known for being a devout woman who is descended from Jesus Christ. She sacrificed a great deal to enter the line of Jesus Christ. The gains she made are incomparable to everything she has contributed. The blessings pronounced over Ruth materialized.

Just as Naomi desired a home for Ruth Jesus Christ has also promised us eternal home. He is preparing your retirement package and will take care of us while we are here on earth. When you retire from the earth, there is city whose builder is God where you will live in peace forever. The decision to follow Christ Jesus to the end is worth it all.

Prayer: Jude 1:24-25 To You who is able to keep me from stumbling and to present me before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
