THE REWARD

 

Ruth 2:11-12 Boaz replied, “I’ve been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know before. May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”

Matthew 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. The word seek can be explained in the following words and more;  to try to find; to look for; to search for, look for, to ask for; to solicit, to beseech. To try to acquire or gain; to strive after, to aim at, to go, move, travel (in a given direction). The Bible does not frown on having the other things. But in the constitution of God, His Kingdom first before all other things. 

Ruth sought for the kingdom of first, when she was faced with the reality of not being able to marry again, that did not deter her, she was still eager to to seek the Kingdom of God first unlike Orpah who had her eye on the others things first. Again we can see Ruth reaping the promises of God for people who forsakes all and follow Jesus Christ. Mark 10:29-30 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life.

Indeed that sacrifices of Ruth were never in vain, She lost it all to gain it all. 

Prayer: Father fulfill your word in my life, as I seek first your kingdom, add the others to me swiftly in Jesus name. Amen!
