THE SPEC YOU NEED

 

Hebrews 7:26 He is the kind of high priest we need because he is holy and blameless, unstained by sin. He has been set apart from sinners and has been given the highest place of honor in heaven.

Men have their specifications, and so do women. Everyone has an expectation of the other person. Expectations range from the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical. When it comes to our dealings with each other, there is a certain standard we desire to see. Most often, we will make comments like, "He or she is not mature enough," "They don't carry themselves well," "She is this," "He is that," and so on. We often get disappointed when people don't meet our specifications. There is always a kind of person we need, but dearly beloved, all humans are flawed. Beloved, all humans are flawed.

Romans 3:23 states, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Human beings are so lacking in glory that we cannot be the kind of person each other truly needs. We all have issues, but there is One who is Just and Perfect: Jesus Christ. When He becomes your standard, He embraces you with your own limitations and empowers you to be the kind of person that others need. And for those who are not your ideal, He gives you grace to relate to them as well. No human standard will truly satisfy you unless you have found the perfect standard. Jesus is the real specification you need. In your relationships with others, look for the "Jesus spec" because Christ in us is the hope of glory. The lack of glory in our lives is restored by the entrance of Christ. The spec we need is Jesus Christ, and the spec you need to see in others is the "Jesus specification." Glory!
