THE RESULTS OF GOOD LEADERSHIP
1 Kings 4:20 The people of Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore. They were very contented, with plenty to eat and drink.
During the reign of King Solomon, Israel saw the fulfilment of God's promise to Abraham. They had become like sand like the seashore. It did not matter how numerous the people were, everyone was content with enough to eat and drink. Where there is a lack of daily bread it a clear indication of poor and porous leadership. Joseph in his lifetime saved his generation from starvation.
Jesus Christ demonstrated this when he fed 5,000 people and had excesses for those who were not even there. Good leadership results from wisdom from the Lord. 1 Kings 3:9-10 Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?" The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
Any good leader who will make a significant impact in the lives of the people seeks wisdom for two reasons, wisdom to judge or lead the people and wisdom to discern between right and wrong. If you are a leader and all you seek is yourself and making laws that will suit your ambition and desires, then you won't amount to anything and that will also be the fate of the people. They won't see any progress in their lives. When people under you are not prospering it is a sign of leadership failure.
Prayer: Father give us men and women who will seek heavenly wisdom to advance the course of your work and the course of the people in Jesus' name. Amen.
