CONSTANT REMINDER

1 Kings 9:4-5 Now if you walk before Me as your father David walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments, then I will establish the throne of your dynasty over Israel forever. For I made this promise to your father, David: ‘One of your descendants will always sit on the throne of Israel.

Severally in the bible from the old covenant to the new, The Father will constantly remind His people of the need to continually obey Him to keep enjoying His blessing and to see the manifestation of promises He has made with them. Apart from The Father, other great fathers of the faith emphasised to their successors the need to continually obey the Father. Moses to the Israelites, then from Moses to Joshua. Samuel said the same to King Saul and David said these same words to his son Solomon. Jesus Christ obeyed The Father while He lived on earth and also left us with the example to obey The Father. 

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 1 Samuel 15:22 So Samuel said:  "Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. Hebrews 5:7-9 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. To obey the Father to constantly enjoy His blessings is a constant reminder.

Prayer: Holy Spirit lead me always to will and to do all the Father requires of me in Jesus' name. Amen.
