GALILEE

1 Kings 9:13 “What kind of towns are these, my brother?” he asked. So Hiram called that area Cabul (which means “worthless”), as it is still known today.

Galilee was a city that King Solomon gave out to his ally Hiram king of Tyre in appreciation for supplying him with cedar and cypress timber which he used in building the Temple of the Lord and his palace. King Hiram was not pleased with the gift of towns in Galilee given to him by Solomon. Originally Galilee had the meaning circuit, district or circle. But out of ingratitude to a gift given, Hiram gave Galilee another name Cabul which means worthless. From that day he changed the destiny of Galilee and made it a worthless inhabitation which does not produce any good thing.

The story changed when Jesus Christ came to the scene. Matthew 4:15-16  "The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned." Galilee is mentioned many times in the Gospel than any other city. The Gospel was first preached in Galilee. Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." The first disciples of Jesus Christ came from Galilee. Matthew 4:18-19 And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

In Acts 1:11 after Jesus Christ had ascended into heaven the angels called the disciples of Jesus Christ Ye men of Galilee. God used the men of Galilee for the spreading of the Gospel. I don't know who has called you worthless and has said nothing good will emerge from you. You are on God's agenda, He will use you for something great. Jesus Christ did his first miracle in Galilee. Turning water into wine. John 2:11 This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him. John 7:41 Jesus' came from Galilee. Others said, "This is the Christ." But some said, "Will the Christ come out of Galilee? If you accept the Gospel and accept the call many miracles signs and wonders will follow you.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I accept you into my heart. Come and live in me. I accept to follow you for the rest of my life. Be a miracle worker in my life in Jesus' name. Amen!
