THE POWER OF THE TEMPLE

1 Kings 8:35-36 "When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them, then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance. 

Thanks be to our Lord Jesus Christ Jesus Christ who through His death and resurrection has made us living temples. After King Solomon built the temple of the Lord, He prayed. His prayers showed how important the temple of the Lord is. The temple is a place of reference in times of trouble. One problem of humanity is sin and the consequences of it dire. When humanity is troubled because of sin, the temple serves as a point of reference for God to intervene. God made a covenant of not destroying humanity with flood again with Noah giving him the appearance of the rainbow in the sky.

But in David's line of which Solomon is part and Christ is ultimate from that line, the temple is our covenant. When we sin and God wants to unleash his fury upon humanity he remembers the covenant He has with us through the blood of Jesus Christ and His body. Matthew 26:26-28 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed  and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, "Take, eat; this is My body." Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

That is why your body is very important as a believer because in God's wrath when He looks at you He should remember the covenant He has with His Son through your body. That is why Apostle Paul writes and Says in Romans 12:1 beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Your body as a believer is an important sacrifice for the salvation of many. Don't only regard your as human parts but Know that is a temple and regard it as such. Don't ever miss out on the opportunity to be part of erecting a physical temple where the name of the Lord is worshipped. Temples are living sacrifices that speak.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me and forgive me for not regarding my body as a temple. Cleanse me again Lord Jesus Christ. Holy Spirit give me an understanding of my body as your temple and grant me the grace to handle it as such in Jesus' name. Amen
