THE BENEFITS OF GIVING

2 Corinthians 9:12-13 So two good things will result from this ministry of giving—the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God. As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.

God is Good and all the time God is Good. Giving is good all the time and all the time giving is good. The Bible says two Good things happen when we give. The first is that people's needs are met. Beloved people have diverse kinds of needs ranging from spiritual, physical, emotional and psychological. Anytime you have the opportunity to meet any of these needs don't hesitate to do them. Your money, your time and resources are needed to meet a need.

Another good thing that results from giving is thankfulness to God. Thanksgiving is God's need. God does not not food, clothing, cars, money etc. He is a perfect God and all-sufficient. He has one need that is our thankfulness. Anytime we give to the needy they abound in thanksgiving unto God. They scream it!  Father thank you, Thank you, Jesus. It is a good thing for God to receive praise from men.  Luke 17:15-18 One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!”
He fell to the ground at Jesus’ feet, thanking him for what he had done.

This man was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” When no one is giving thanks to God, the needy you helped will give thanks to God. A Psalm. Psalms 92:1 It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High. Give to meet a need, give to cause thanksgiving to abound unto God. As you give you also share in the blessing of giving.

Prayer: Holy Spirit open my eyes to see the needs around me, empower me financially and in any other way to meet these needs in Jesus' name. Amen
