STANDING FIRM IN FAITH

2 Corinthians 1:24 But that does not mean we want to dominate you by telling you how to put your faith into practice. We want to work together with you so you will be full of joy, for it is by your own faith that you stand firm.

One thing you need as a child of God in these last days is stability or firmness in the faith. Firm is synonymous with words like steadfast, secure, solid durable. One thing Jesus Christ will be looking out for in His return is faith.  Luke 18:8 But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?” This portion of scripture is from the story of the poor widow who wearied the unrighteous judge till he gave her justice.
Luke 18:5-8 but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’” Then the Lord said, “Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?  I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

From this story, Jesus Christ is teaching us how to remain firm in faith. We remain firm in faith when we constantly go to God with our requests. It does not matter how long it takes, you must keep going to God in prayers till you see the results. The woman had no option but to go to the judge. Jesus is our only option. We must keep going to Him till He rules in our favour. He is the only alternative we have.  Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. We begin to shake and fall out of faith when we have other alternatives apart from God. Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Hear God's word constantly and communicate to Him daily with His word as you do this, you will remain firm in the faith. It is the devil's wish that you fall out of faith but Jesus has prayed for you that you remain in the faith and be strengthened.

Prayer: Father increase my faith.  Holy Spirit help me to constantly look unto Jesus Christ as my only alternative in Jesus' name. Amen.
