YOU HAVE THE WHIP

John 2:15 When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money and overturned the tables.

Gentle Jesus meek and mild had a whip. He did not buy it, He made it out of the passion He had for His father's house.
His whip never inflicted pain on people's bodies, His whip drives out evil from the presence of God. During the lifetime of Jesus Christ on earth, one place He visited frequently was His father's house thus the temple. And He could not stand to see that the temple of the Living God has been turned into a marketplace.

John 2:16 And He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things away! Do not make My Father`s house a house of merchandise!" He did this to demonstrate the importance of the temple and how He expects us to handle the new temple He will be giving us. 1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

The temple of God is no longer a physical edifice but your body. God dwells in you, your body is His residence. When it was a physical temple He could just walk in and drive away the evil activities He detests. But because He now dwells in you He does have that power to drive out anymore, the power is with you. When the things you do with the members of your body are not God-glorifying, you drive the Holy Spirit out and invite in the devil. Who are you driving out with your whip? It is Jesus Christ or the devil.

Prayer: Holy Spirit forgive me for driving you out of your residence which is my body. Today by the whip which represents the blood of Jesus Christ and the word I drive any foreign spirit that dwells in me. Come and live in me all my life and take over in Jesus' name. Amen.
