RICHED AND SAVED

Luke 18:26-27 And those who heard it said, "Who then can be saved?" But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

In Luke Chapter eighteen verses eighteen to thirty, there was a discussion between Jesus Christ and the rich man. The rich went to Jesus Christ seeking eternal life. Luke 18:18 Now a certain ruler asked Him, saying, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" Genuinely every rich person in their heart desire to have eternal life. This particular rich man was clean when it came to the law, he had obeyed them all through his infancy.

But Jesus Christ who has the power to see beyond the outward saw through his heart that he was not generous to the poor. His test was to sell all he had to give to the poor to gain heavenly treasures but because he had a lot of possession and was unwilling to share with the poor he left Jesus Christ without receiving eternal life.

Luke 18:24-25 And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." This statement from Jesus Christ baffled his audience because no one desires to be poor.

Though Jesus Christ said it is hard for the rich to have eternal life, He never said it was impossible. He said with God it is very possible for those who are rich to have eternal life. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David were wealthy personalities but with their riches, they served God and gained eternal life. Do not allow riches to rob you of eternal life. It is possible to have the two with God. You can be rich and saved.

Prayer: Jesus Christ rend my heart from any strong attachment to the treasures of this world. Let my ultimate goal be to seek your kingdom, bless me as I do that in Jesus' name. Amen.
