THE BLOOD

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.

It is said blood is thicker than water. Water is used in our everyday activities and it is a basic need for life. But when it comes to blood we talking about life. Though the body contains 60% plus water, what sustains its life is not water but the blood. The blood has a divine function from creation. Genesis 3:21 The Lord God made tunics of [animal] skins for Adam and his wife and clothed them.

The first covering humanity had after the fall came from animal sacrifice. When the blood of a human or animal is sacrificed on an altar is for atonement. Blood is shed for convenant or atonement. Nations, families, cults, and circles have been involved in blood sacrifices for selfish reasons that have led people into bondage. Hebrews 9:22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin.

Everything is purified by blood but what brings forgiveness of sin is the shedding of the blood of Jesus Christ. Any other bloodshed brings you into a covenant of bondage and vengeance. Hebrews 12:24 To Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

You have come into the covenant by blood and you will need the blood superior blood of Jesus Christ to cleanse you from the negative covenant and bring you into a better one. The blood of Jesus Christ is readily available to cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ let your blood that cleanse and forgive me and place me in a better position in Jesus' name. Amen.
