THE PRESSURE OF THE PEOPLE

Exodus 32:1 Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him, "Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him." 

If there was anyone who was given special attention by God while Moses was on the Mountain for forty days it was Aaron and his descendants. God took a keen interest in them. Part of the reason Moses kept longer on the mountain was He was being given detailed instructions about Aaron and his sons, including what they had to wear. Exodus 28:2 And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. The whole of Exodus 28 and 29 were dedicated to their assignment and how they should even look.

This was how special they were in the eyes of God. Yet Aaron because of the pressure of people soiled himself with iniquity. Beloved, you need to understand that God's delay is not denial. Up there He is preparing something special for you that will distinguish you from the others. Don't let anyone talk you out of the will of God. Proverbs 1:10 My child, if sinners entice you, turn your back on them! Beloved sinners will always be among us. When God was giving the law to His Holy nation Isreal it catered for murderers, thieves with other social vices.

People will always suggest sin to you have you have the responsibility of rejecting it. Exodus 32:25 Now when Moses saw that the people were unrestrained (for Aaron had not restrained them, to their shame among their enemies). You have the power to restrain people from talking you out of the will of God. When the devil was using Peter to talk Jesus out of the will of God, He was faced squarely by the Master.

Matthew 16:22-23 But Peter took him aside and began to reprimand him for saying such things. “Heaven forbid, Lord,” he said. “This will never happen to you!” Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.” In your bid to follow the will of God, you may end up stepping on some toes and offending some people. But is okay once you are in the will of God.

Prayer: Holy Spirit empower me to stand up and reject anything that interfere with your will for my life and divine assignment in Jesus' name. Amen
