WEAK ALLIANCE

Isaiah 20:5-6 How dismayed will be the Philistines, who counted on the power of Ethiopia and boasted of their allies in Egypt! They will say, 'If this can happen to Egypt, what chance do we have? For we counted on Egypt to protect us from the king of Assyria.' "

The Bible encourages teamwork and support for one another. These are a few scriptures to support that. Ecclesiastes 4:9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labour.
Matthew 18:19 “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. Hebrews 10:24-25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.  In as much as the encourages teamwork and being there for one another, the Bible is clear on the fact that we should solely trust and depend on God.

The people of Philistine hoped and trusted the alliance they had with Ethiopia and Egypt. The Bible clearly states that curse is anyone who trusts in a man. You should be careful that the support and help you provide for someone or people does not bring you a place where you become an enemy of God. For the Bible says His glory He will share with no man. Always direct those you are able to help to direct their gratitude towards God and guard your heart and mind from being puffed up. Human alliance will eventually fail but Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. 1 Peter 1:24-25 because “All flesh is as grass And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away, But the word of the Lord endures forever.”Now, this is the word which by the gospel was preached to you.

Prayer: Lord Jesus in you I put my trust. Holy Spirit help me to continually rely on word and will for my life in your matchless name. Amen.
