CAUSING MY PEOPLE TO SIN

1 Kings 16:2 “I lifted you out of the dust to make you ruler of my people Israel, but you have followed the evil example of Jeroboam. You have provoked my anger by causing my people Israel to sin.

Romans 3:23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Sin is universal, every human has that virus and is highly contagious. God does not permit any of His creatures of which humans are supreme to be used as objects to exalt sin. Matthew 18:7 “What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting.

When God made Jeroboam King of Israel his assignment was to lead by example to turn the people to God like David. He failed to do that and as if that was not enough he led the people of Israel into great idol worship. 1 Kings 12:28-31 So on the advice of his counselors, the king made two gold calves. He said to the people, “It is too much trouble for you to worship in Jerusalem. Look, Israel, these are the gods who brought you out of Egypt!” He placed these calf idols in Bethel and in Dan—at either end of his kingdom. But this became a great sin, for the people worshiped the idols, traveling as far north as Dan to worship the one there. Jeroboam also erected buildings at the pagan shrines and ordained priests from the common people—those who were not from the priestly tribe of Levi.

Today in our times physical altars are not being erected for people to go there and worship. Our handset thus our mobile phones are the altars. The things we share with them can either cause people to sin or worship God. Quit sharing invite links that lead to scamming sites and groups, fraudulent sites and groups, pornography sites and groups, gambling sites and groups. If the link you are sharing will not bring glory to God then quit sharing it and start sharing God glorifying ones 1 Kings 13:34 This became a great sin and resulted in the utter destruction of Jeroboam’s dynasty from the face of the earth. Your family line can be cut off from God's divine agenda if you don't quit promoting sin.

Prayer: Father in Jesus' name have mercy on me in any way I have been involved in the promotion and exaltation of sin. Forgive me as I repent to use my body and objects to bring glory to your name in Jesus' name. Amen.
