YOUR KING AND HIS KING

1 Samuel 16:1 Now the lord said to Samuel, “You have mourned long enough for Saul. I have rejected him as king of Israel, so fill your flask with olive oil and go to Bethlehem. Find a man named Jesse who lives there, for I have selected one of his sons to be my king.”

As a human, you have your preference and God also have His preference. After God rejected Saul as king of Israel prophet Samuel was still mourning over him. Why would Samuel keep crying over Saul? Knowing very well that he has disobeyed God on countless occasions. 1 Samuel 15:22-23 So Samuel said:  "Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king."

Sometimes we think that person or that opportunity is our lost option or only hope. We turn to mourn and look for ways and means to get it to work. But when you run out of options God brings His best. There are people, situations and opportunities that have been rejected by God quit mourning over them and open up to see the best opportunity God is offering you. Humans may run out of options but God never does. His reservoirs are full of top-notch qualities, His replacements are the best. 

1 Samuel 16:6-7 So it was, when they came, that he looked at Eliab and said, "Surely the Lord`s anointed is before Him." But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees;  for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." God's preference for people is not based on the outward but the inward thus the heart. Judging things from the outward is our limitations as humans but God has given us the Holy Spirit to help us break this limitation. Stop mourning over your king who disobeys God and despises His ways. That person, opportunity or thing is not the will of God for you. God has the best option for you in the house of Jesse. Let the joy of the Holy Spirit fill you up and go out there to meet the best person and opportunity God has for you. Amen.

Prayer: Holy Spirit take away every spirit of mourning from my life. I open up myself to receive from you your very best in Jesus' name. Amen
