PRIVATE LIFE
1 Samuel 10:15 -16 “Oh? And what did he say?” his uncle asked. “He told us that the donkeys had already been found,” Saul replied. But Saul didn’t tell his uncle what Samuel said about the kingdom.
Once again in King Saul's life, a high level of discreteness is demonstrated, this time not by someone but himself. Am sure he took a cue from prophet Samuel and learnt how to be discrete with certain sensitive issues. There are things in your life you do not need to go around announcing when the time is right they will show forth by themselves. Saul was secretive with his uncle about his anointing as the king of Israel. He only told him what he knew already, about the donkeys. This question what did he/ she say? How did it go? will always come up after major events in your life. You have to decide and discern by the Holy Spirit what to say and what to keep to yourself. Saul kept his elevation as king from his uncle. Why? Perhaps he knew what manner of person he was. He did not allow the excitement about his sudden elevation as king to make him forget that. Psalms 23:5a You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. Is the Lord who prepares a table before you in the presence of your enemies, not you preparing the table before them. When you try, you will be attacked and killed. There are victories and elevations you can't wait to share but be wise and vigilant about who you disseminate that information. In today's world where showing everything in public has become the order of the day, endeavour to have some space for privacy.
Prayer: Holy Spirit give me the Spirit of discernment and a wise tongue. As you lift and give me victories help me to know when to share and when to be quiet in Jesus' name. Amen.
