INHERITANCE

1 Samuel 20:31-32  As long as that son of Jesse is alive, you’ll never be king. Now go and get him so I can kill him!”  “But why should he be put to death?” Jonathan asked his father. “What has he done?”

Many have killed and soiled their hands with blood because of inheritance. Jonathan the son of Saul was physically the heir to King Saul. But God had given that inheritance to David and it was okay with Jonathan. In as much as King Saul disliked David and wanted to kill him, he could not instigate Jonathan against David.

You should not hate, destroy or try killing because of an inheritance.  It is God that enthrone and dethrone. When you are tempted to plot evil against some ask the question Jonathan asked his Father. What has he done? If the person has not wronged you in any way be human enough to leave it. Someone's survival will not hinder your progress.

Colossians 1:12-14 Always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. Our true and ultimate inheritance is in Christ Jesus. Because He lives you are a royal and you don't have to destroy anyone to be a king. He is the King of kings.

Prayer: Holy Spirit give an understanding of my inheritance in Christ Jesus. I rid my heart of any strong attachment to earthly possessions in Jesus' name. Amen
