PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Ezekiel 18:4 For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child —both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die.

There was a false proverb going on in the land of Israel, and God had to correct it;
Ezekiel 18:2 "What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: "’ The parents eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge’?  God demonstrated in His response that he is not biased when dealing with the subject of sin. We are all responsible for our sinful or righteous state. Children and parents alike cannot be blamed for each other's errors. If you have parents who do not know the Lord, you as a child can decide to follow the way of the Lord and save your soul. Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. The righteous or sins of our parents are not transferable to children and vice-versa.  John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Children of occult masters and criminals are being saved daily into the kingdom of God, while some parents with notorious wards are living right with God. The consequences of sin or righteousness are personal decisions.

No matter your background, God can save you.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, I run to you for my salvation. Help to live worship despite family or societal challenges in your name, I pray. Amen.
