THE LORD'S LITMUS TEST

Proverbs 17:3 The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart.

There are various ways of testing products to ascertain their authenticity. Gold is tested by fire to ascertain its genuineness. Gold does not felt in a fire, it survives in the fire and comes out pure. Looking at the outward is to humans while looking at the heart is to God. 

1Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

The Lord does not test the outward His interest is in your heart. God knew Job's heart but the devil knew his material substance. The devil thought touching Job's property will affect his heart but it did not, his heart was fully sold out to the Lord. So God puts it this way where your heart lies there your treasure will be.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. God's interest is in the heart first before any other thing. 

The Lord tests the hearts: The most appropriate place for the human heart to be tested and purified is with the Lord Himself. Your response to God's word determines the state of your heart and

 your reaction to issues determines the state of your heart. 

Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king's meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Proverbs 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Matthew 12:34 You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. Because God's interest is your heart you must guard your heart with God's word it can stand God's test.

Prayer: Lord create me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me so I may be able to stand all forms of test in Jesus mighty name Amen.
