OUR DAILY BREAD

Ezekiel 4:16-17 Then he told me, "Son of man, I will cause food to be very scarce in Jerusalem. It will be weighed out with great care and eaten fearfully. The water will be portioned out drop by drop, and the people will drink it with dismay. Food and water will be so scarce that the people will look at one another in terror, and they will waste away under their punishment.

In the Lord's prayer, Jesus taught us that after we have thanked God, prayed for the coming of his Kingdom and prayed that His will be done, the next thing to pray about is the provision of daily bread. Hunger issues have often been related to economic crises, drought and low agriculture activities. But can I also suggest to you that hunger issues also has its root cause from sin. Jesus taught us to pray for His will to be done first before we begin to ask of what we will eat. Scarcity of food and water was one of the ways the Lord used to  punish the people of Israel for being rebellious towards him. If our world is hungry is a sin problem.
Some 795 million people in the world do not have enough food to lead a healthy active life. That's about one in nine people on earth. The vast majority of the world's hungry people live in developing countries, where 12.9 percent of the population is undernourished. World Hunger Statistics - Food Aid Foundation. Isaiah told the people if you are willing and obedient you will eat the good of the Land. Beloved eating and drinking is a result of obeying the Lord.

Prayer: Jesus Christ many are hungry in our world. Feed us with the bread of life and give us our daily bread in Jesus name Amen
