RETHINK WORK

Revelation 6:5-6 When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand. Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, "Two pounds of wheat for a day’s wages, and six pounds of barley for a day’s wages, and do not damage the oil and the wine!"

In these last days, one of the devil's antics is to keep people very busy with work and deter them from the things of God. People will be so much preoccupied with work. The devil will present people with lucrative options; work more and earn more money. All this is to ensure that people do not concentrate on God and His purpose for their lives. Oil in the natural is used for fuel for lamps for healing the sick and for anointing; oil also represents people's potential, skills, abilities, substances, time, etc. The wine represents God's spirit and is symbolic of the blood of Jesus Christ. But in the bid to work more and earn, we misuse our potentials, destroying its true purpose. Note it was the four living creatures throwing caution to humanity that in our quest to make ends meet, we should not damage the oil and the wine. Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:24-25 "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
"Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? These are the very words of Jesus Christ. Any work you do that takes you out of the will and purpose is dangerous, and you must quit if ever you want to amount to anything in God. God knows and understands that you must work, but no work should damage the oil and the wine.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, any job or work I find myself doing that displaces me from your will for my life, Lord I pray for a divine turn around help me find a new one that suits your will and purpose Jesus' name. Amen.
