WHAT THE LIVING DO

Isaiah 38:18-19 For the grave cannot praise you, death cannot sing your praise; those who go down to the pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.  The living, the living —they praise you, as I am doing today; parents tell their children about your faithfulness.

From Isaiah 38: 9 King Hezekiah was recounting the ordeals he went through during the times of sickness, that boil was meant to kill him but God restored him to life. Even though he had not recovered when he was writing this portion of Scripture he saw the need to praise God despite the challenges of Life. He knew once he had life it was time to praise because he was a sure candidate for God's faithfulness. You fall into the category of the dead when you fail to praise the Lord. In other words, you cannot live without praising. Are you living today then join us praise the Lord? Shout Praise the Lord! Praise God today with this stanza from the Methodist hymnal.
I’ll praise my Maker while I’ve breath,
And when my voice is lost in death,
Praise shall employ my nobler pow’rs;
My days of praise shall ne’er be past,
While life and thought and being last,
Or immortality endures.

Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus Christ I come today to thank and praise you for the gift of life and for all you have done and for all you are yet to do. May your great name be praised in Jesus'  name. Amen.
