THE MYSTERY BEHIND THE SIN OF THE YOUNG GENERATION

It is better for you to enter into life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire.

The concluding verses of Mark nine are prophetic to the young generation and things that would make them fall into sin. Before Jesus Christ goes on to mention the elements of temptation, He first said this in  Mark 9:42 "If anyone causes one of these little ones —those who believe in me —to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.

The first part of the body Jesus touches on that has the potential of causing one to fall into sin is the hand. I thought the order would have been the eye, hands, and foot. But Jesus' order is different because He is a God who foresees future events and cautions us before we get there. Beloved, is it not evident to us that the number one challenge of this young generation is the use of the handset - mobile phones  used by the hand.

The problem is what they are holding. The peer pressure, social vices, and the likes all happen on the handset. This device called the mobile phone, with its advantages has also done a lot of harm to young people. It is true that when mobile phones were not around, sinful ways still existed, but this particular device has become a catalyst to aid wicked ways.

The other two that lead people to sin foot and the eye can also be connected to using handsets. Now you don't need to go out there to join your peers or do anything else. The meetings happen live on our phones. Come to talk about the eye, the things we watch are on our phones.

The era of television is quickly fading away. We now have televisions on our phones. You are receiving this message from me through the phone. We know that the mobile phone has advantages, but its disadvantages significantly for the young ones, are alarming. How then do we solve the problem? If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. As parents, guardians, and responsible youth, some platforms and sites we cut off from our handset. Parents must set up parental controls on the devices of young people. It is not worth going to hell because of a handset. You must decide to cut off certain things to make it to heaven. And it is purely your decision.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and discernment as to how to use my mobile phone, so I do not yield the element of my body to temptations that will disqualify me for eternity in Jesus' name. Amen.
