THERE IS STRENGTH IN QUIETNESS

Isaiah 30:15: For thus the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, has said, "In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength." But you were not willing.

Although Isaiah described the
the rebellion of the people of Israel, in the early verses of this chapter.. and how they turned back to Egypt for succor and strength, instead of looking to the Lord their God - we as the body of Christ can learn some important lessons and apply its vital truths to our own lives, in this Church dispensation.

How foolish we are when we seek relief in the things of this world and turn to fleshly pursuits to satisfy our needs and desires when we have the Lord our God as our Sustainer, our Provider, and our Defender.

But what a comfort also to know that despite their rebellion and apostasy against the Lord promised God of Israel, that He: in repentance and rest you will be saved - in quietness and trust is your strength.

We who have been saved from the PENALTY of sin by grace through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ, have the continuing promise that we shall go on being saved from the POWER of sin in our lives - by the same God-given grace and through the selfsame faith in Christ - if we will quietly trust in the one and only Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Israel was not willing to depend upon the Lord their God as their singular and exclusive Sustainer, Provider, and Defender but instead turned away from Him, to the empty promises of the deceptive world system.

May it not be said of us.. who were saved by grace through faith and who are all members of the body of Christ, that we were unwilling to quietly depend upon the God of our salvation as our exclusive Sustainer, Provider, and Defender as we journey through this world.. on our way to our heavenly home.

Let us rather live this life by grace through faith - and in quietness, confidence, and complete dependence on Jesus Christ, Who is all that we need in this world and in the world to come - life everlasting.

Prayer: Help me Lord to abide in You, to rest in Your love and to trust in Your strength in quietness and confidence - for You alone are my Sustainer, my Provider and my Defender.. in Jesus name I pray, AMEN
