THE TEACHER YOU REFUSE TO OBEY

Isaiah 48:17-18 This is what the LORD says — your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: "I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.

In life, we have many teachers starting from our immediate family, school teachers, life experiences, books, people's lives, and mentors or role models who we pick along the path of life as we progress. Some of these teachers we meet in life either influenced our lives negatively or positively. We tried our best to obey their teachings even when we were so sure of it. With time we comprehended that some of their directions were not in line with the plan of God for our lives. Paul had a teacher called Gamaliel. Acts 22:3-24 "I am a Jew, born in Tarsus of Cilicia, but brought up in this city. I studied under Gamaliel and was thoroughly trained in the law of our ancestors. I was just as zealous for God as any of you are today. I persecuted the followers of this Way to their death, arresting both men and women and throwing them into prison. What Paul learned from school made him hostile towards the followers of Jesus Christ. Some of us like Paul have been negatively influenced by some teachers. God has availed Himself to us as a teacher who knows what is best for us and the very way we should go that will make us successful yet we don't do it. We don't any challenge obeying teachers and books we don't know anything about we have a challenge obeying the teachers of the one who made us, the author of our very lives, is it not an irony. If only we could obey God most of the challenges we face would be channels of blessing. Our lives would turn up easier and happier. Today God is calling you to become His obedient student so that your peace will like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea.

Prayer: Father in the name of Jesus Christ I surrender myself to follow your teachings and commands. So help me, Lord. Amen
