LOVE'S CHECKLIST

John 13:34-35: "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this, all men will know that you are my disciples if you love one another."

The new commandment that Christ gave to demonstrate true discipleship is not religious rituals but love for one another. It is the litmus test, your love determines your commitment to God. What is love then? 1st Corinthians 13: 4- 7 gives use these words to explain love; kindness, not being jealous, not being proud or rude, not being selfish, not easily angered, love rejoices in the truth, never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through all circumstances. Make a checklist and see if you have all these, you may not have it all but you can strive to get there.  Three things will last forever; faith, hope, and love - and the greatest of all is love. May you be known as the ambassador of Christ because of your love.

Prayer: Change my heart O Lord, let me understand that love for others is what makes me a disciple.
