THE COMMANDS OF LOVE 💕

2 John 1:5-6 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another. And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

What did we hear in the beginning? John 1verses 1- 5 answers that.  John 1:1-5, In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made; without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
This can be put this way, in the beginning, was Love, and Love was with God and Love was God. Love was with God in the beginning. Through Love all things were made; without Love, nothing was made that has been made. In Love was life and the light of mankind. Loves shines in darkness and the darkness has not overcome it. Everything God made and is still doing in the life of humanity is about Love. In 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 the Bible says If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If  I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. Without love, there is no gain.
And this love: when we walk in obedience to His commands. Jesus gave us a new commandment called Love and this commandment has its commands. Let read  1 Corinthians 13:4-13 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.  And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. Love has its commands and until you walk in obedience to the commands of love you don't have Love.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ help me to walk in the commands of love in Jesus' name Amen.
