DIVINE SECURITY

Psalms 3:3 But you, O  Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.

In Psalms three David laments about his many foes. Psalms 3:1-2 O  lord, I have so many enemies; so many are against me. So many are saying, “God will never rescue him!” Despite his numerous enemies, David had the assurance that God to provide him security. He mentions three things that God is to him that are enough to keep him safe from his many enemies.

The first thing David mentions that God is to him gives that gives him security is that God is a shield. A shield is anything that protects or defends; defence; shelter; protection. There are different types of arsenals that require different types of shields. Sometimes the arsenal may be lies about, manipulations, threats, diseases, conspiracies, death etc. God's protection around you can fight the many arsenals the devil throws. God around you is enough to fight many things thrown at you. The next thing David mentions that gave him divine immunity is the glory of God. The glory of God is also a defence for you. The glory of God is the beauty of His spirit. It is not an aesthetic beauty or a material beauty, but the beauty that emanates from His character, from all that He is. The glory of man—human dignity and honour—fades (1 Peter 1:24). But the glory of God, which is manifested in all His attributes together, never passes away. It is eternal.

It that place that place where the enemy cannot get access to you. It was the glory of God that saved Daniel from being eaten by the lions when he was placed in the lion's den. Even those who were privileged to see His glory were awe-stricken. God's glory around a person that does not allow enemies to get access. It is a no-go area. One of the beautiful defence systems of God for us when our heads are lifted high amid the challenges and issues of life. Like Joseph moving from prison to become a prime minister Like God deciding to be the son of the barren woman Hannah to be a prophet over those that had children. When you come to a place where you keep flourishing amid the conspiracies, lies, hatred and all the odds, it is one of God's defence mechanisms working for you and silencing your enemies.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I have many foes, but be my shield, glory and lift my head at all times. In your matchless name, I pray. Amen!
