THE PRESSURE TO COMPRISE

1 Kings 22:13-14 Meanwhile, the messenger who went to get Micaiah said to him, “Look, all the prophets are promising victory for the king. Be sure that you agree with them and promise success.”  But Micaiah replied, “As surely as the lord lives, I will say only what the lord tells me to say.”

Comprise is an external force directed towards you to do things that are not in line with your principles or the will of God. Comprise comes in when you want to be part of the all or you are being forced to be part of the all. "Look, all the prophets are promising victory for the king. Be sure that you agree with them and promise success".

People who do not compromise have strong convictions about the word of God. They say what the Lord has asked them to say. They live their lives upon the truth of God's word. Standing up for the truth will always land you in trouble. This was the beginning of the troubles of the prophet Micaiah. 1 Kings 22:24 Now Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the spirit from the Lord go from me to speak to you?” It began with a slap and he ended up in prison. 1 Kings 22:27 says, ‘Thus says the king: “Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with the bread of affliction and water of affliction until I come in peace.” The first trouble you face when you don't compromise is that you are imprisoned. It may not always be a physical prison but the moment you don't conform, you are put into isolation, you are categorized as an enemy.

Another trouble of not compromising is the food and water of affliction. Food and water are the necessities of life that are needed for daily survival. Daily people will plan things that will afflict you. The prize of not compromising is very high and only a few thread that path but there is great reward and wisdom in it. Matthew 7:13-14 The “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it. Many begin on a good note but yield because of the pressure of the people. Like the prophet Micaiah be resolute in your stand for Jesus Christ with zero compromise and say "As surely as the lord lives, I will say only what the lord tells me to say.” Matthew 24:14 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Prayer: Holy Spirit help me not to compromise. Empower to stand firm for you in these last days in Jesus' name. Amen
