OTHER VOICES AND YOUR INNER WITNESS

1 Kings 22:6-7 So the king of Israel summoned the prophets, about 400 of them, and asked them, “Should I go to war against Ramoth-Gilead, or should I hold back?”They all replied, “Yes, go right ahead! The Lord will give the king victory.” But Jehoshaphat asked, “Is there not also a prophet of the lord here? We should ask him the same question.”

Deuteronomy 19:15b A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. In the truth of this scripture, Jehosaphat had doubts about the word being given by four hundred prophets lined up by Ahab.
What will make a man hear four hundred voices of men who are not ordinary but prophets and still have a strong conviction within him that I can't sense God in these voices? I need to hear one more.

Job 32:7-8 I said, ‘Age should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.’ But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding. The highest form of understanding does not come from the aged or the persons with experience rather it comes from the Holy Spirit who communicates with your Spirit. It is called the inner witness. 1 Corinthians 2:11- 12 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

God's Spirit communicates with your Spirit to confirm His word without any conflict. The word of the Lord from the genuine prophet Michal came to prove the conviction of Jehosaphat right unthenticitaing God's word in Deuteronomy 19: 15b. 1 Kings 22:17 Then he said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. And the Lord said, ‘These have no master. Let each return to his house in peace." God's word is not confirmed by popular opinion but is authenticated by inner witnesses, God's Spirit, and your Spirit. These are the two witnesses you need.

Prayer: Holy Spirit help me to know, understand, and discern when you are speaking, and help me to filter out any contrary information in Jesus' name. Amen
