THE DECISION BEFORE YOU DECIDE

1 Kings 22:5 Then Jehoshaphat added, “But first let’s find out what the lord says.”

King Jehoshaphat had aligned with King Ahab to go to war. 1 Kings 22:4 So he asked Jehoshaphat, "Will you go with me to fight against Ramoth Gilead?" Jehoshaphat replied to the king of Israel, "I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses." King Ahab was Jehoshaphat's father-in-law yet when he had to be his ally in the war he put all protocol aside and insisted that the needful should first be done. What was the needful?

God's take was the most important decision before he decided whether to go to war with his father-in-law or not. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Our understanding of things varies from the way God sees things, we see partially but God sees the full picture from the very beginning to the end. Proverbs 19:21There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand. By the sovereignty of God, His will superimposes that of humans.

To avoid wasted efforts, time, energy and resources, you must inquire from the Lord what His will is. Jesus Christ in teaching about prayer said in prayer we pray that the will of God should be done on earth. Before you take or make any decision you have to make sure it is in line with God's will. It will be cos 90 doing anything outside God's will. On the periphery, you may think you making headway but to God, all your efforts are zero. As you are in the last month of the year in 2023, the first decision to make is to inquire of the Lord Jesus Christ before you decide on anything. Happy New Month .
