THE CERTAINTY OF CERTAIN PEOPLE

1 Kings 20:13 Then a certain prophet came to see King Ahab of Israel and told him, “This is what the Lord says: Do you see all these enemy forces? Today I will hand them all over to you. Then you will know that I am the lord.”

The bible has a lot of people whose names are not mentioned but their stories are such that they cannot be ignored. Sometimes the bible will call them a certain man or woman, other times a lad. The boy who gave Jesus Christ the bread and fish for the feeding of the multitude's name was not mentioned. John 6:9 "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?"

The woman with the issue of the blood's name was never mentioned. The woman at the well's name was not mentioned all we know is that she was a Samaritan,  the leper who returned to offer thanks to Jesus Christ's name was not mentioned he was also a Samaritan. Can we say because their names were not mentioned they lived irrelevant life? Certainly not. Their stories and impact are true and powerful just like the others who had their names mentioned and attached to their works. Names are very important because in your name is your fame. The first desire humanity wanted was to have a name.

Genesis 11:4 Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth." God does not use people who have made a name for themselves. He uses people whom He has given a name. Jesus Christ did not make a name for Himself, He was given a name. Philippians 2:9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name. God in His sovereignty and infinite wisdom uses certain people who do not have a name. Make sure you recognize that even those without a name have been given a name by their story. Don't make the mistake of missing out on certain people.

Prayer: Holy Spirit give discernment and the wisdom I need so I do not miss out on certain people you send into my life in Jesus' Amen. Amen.
