NOT FAR FROM THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Mark 12:33-34 And to love Him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul,  and with all the strength, and to love one`s neighbour as oneself, is more than all the whole burnt offerings and sacrifices." Now when Jesus saw that he answered wisely, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." But after that no one dared question Him.

In today's teaching, Jesus encounters another group of religious leaders. But this time around one of the teachers stood out among the many who were around. Their question to Jesus was about which commandment of God is the greatest and He gave them this profound answer. Not many present understood Jesus's submission. But one religious teacher understood what Jesus said and from his understanding, Jesus made the statement that he was not far from the kingdom of God.

It simply means that there are people who understand the word of God but have been limited from fully accepting the Lordship of Jesus Christ because of the company they find themselves in. Beloved making eternal decision is personal and not cooperate. It is not enough to have understanding or knowledge about the kingdom of God that alone won't bring you into the Kingdom what brings any man into the kingdom of God accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour.

Your knowledge and understanding is a stepping stone that should enable you to believe in the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Don't allow religion to blind you from entering into the kingdom of God, beloved you are not far from it. The Bible says for lack of knowledge my people perish it will therefore be very unwise on your side to have the knowledge and to perish.  So the other time another teacher of the law called Nicodemus went to Jesus at night to enquire of Him how he can enter into the kingdom of God and Jesus replied unless you become born again you cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

It takes Jesus Christ to enter into the kingdom Kingdom of God not book knowledge, philosophy or scientific understanding. Sir and Madam knowledgeable you are not far from the Kingdom Jesus Christ is extending His hand of invitation to you to experience knowledge, wisdom and understanding without walls. Open your heart to Him as He enters to show the true way.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ I come to you just as I am. Forgive me and accept me into your Kingdom. Open the eyes of my understanding to behold the truth in your matchless name I pray. Amen.
